<--RETURN TO PHOTO INDEXEl Bolsónlocated in upper Patagonia El Bolsón, a small town located just an hour south of Bariloche, is known as a backpacker's haven, due to its hippie past, organic foods, and relaxed atmosphere. The center of town is tiny, but it has a lot to offer--fantastic ice cream, bi-weekly artesan fairs, and amazing food. It also provides easier access to a ride on La Trochita, known in English as the Old Patagonian Express. This steam-engine train provided my friends and I with a beautiful view of the Andes from a different place in Patagonia. Additionally, El Bolsón lies near a green-tinted lake which makes for a nice relaxing excursion. (7 photos) |
