Glaciar Perito Moreno

located in Santa Cruz province in Argentine Patagonia
on the shores of Lago Argentino, 80km from El Calafate

The Perito Moreno Glacier is the largest glacier in Parque Nacional Los Glaciares (National Park of The Glaciers) and by far the most visited. This region of Patagonia is beautiful and all of the sights along the ride are worth admiring, as you can see from the photos taken when we stopped. The pathways providing the viewing locations for the glacier are packed with people, but everyone is silent while watching the glacier at work. You can take a boat to approach the glacier from another angle & watch ice sliding off its side to splash in the green-tinted water of Lago Argentino. Basically, the glacier is more beautiful than any photograph can capture, and this is one of the best places to see within Argentina.
