Cataratas de Iguazú

Iguazú Falls, located on the border between Argentina and Brasil
in the provinces of Misiones, Argentina and Paraná, Brasil

Going to the Cataratas de Iguazú was the first big trip I took within Argentina that involved flying, staying in hotels, eating fantastic food, and visiting a major tourist region of Argentina. The Iguazú Falls are the longest stretch of waterfalls in the world, and they are so much more impressive than these pictures can indicate, though I think they do a reasonable job. :) To see the waterfalls from both sides, you have to cross into Brasil, which immediately changes the atmosphere you are used to, as the Brasilian lodging is in a large city, and Brasilians are notoriously more relaxed and joyful than Argentines. There I was able to sample fruits that are so individual to the region that they don't even have English translations, which just tempts me to return for a more extensive feast. :) We visited the falls during the American Thanksgiving weekend, November 26-29, 2001, and as the location is near the Tropic of Capricorn, I was able to experience the sub-tropical climate, incredible strong rays, and a complete change from the slowly warming spring in Argentina.

Anyway, there's always more to say, but take a look at these photos, and let me know if you have any questions. :)
