Tilcara

located in the province of Jujuy

On the way to the city of Salta, Mona and I stayed in the beautiful hostel in Tilcara, Argentina. Tilcara is a small but lovely town located in the beautiful mountains of this region, so we took advantage of the time and did a number of short hikes. The experience of being isolated in these beautiful mountains under a clear blue sky really strikes me as one of the most lasting memories of my time in Argentina. We were able to see the mountains from a changing altitude as well as a reconstructed pucará, or fortress, left by the indigenous people of this area. These are some of my favorite pictures from the entire time in this amazing country.
